It's my second post in a week, not sure how I've managed that!

A couple of layouts to share, the first one is made with Whirlybird papers from MME Abbey Road range. The chipboard shapes are from the range too.
The letter stickers are a mix of Doodlebug and Thickers, and the journalling card is from Martha Stewart.

My next layout is made with Crate Paper Seasons which came as part of a kit from ScrapRoom Flavors of the Month. I love the bright colours in the papers, so I used them with a photo of my Nephew, suiting his personality perfectly!

The letter stickers are felt Thickers and Pink Paislee. I only realised after I had finished the layout that I had stuck the strip of heart paper upside down - oops!

Enjoy the rest of your week x

Hope you are all having a great week so far, the weather is wet and windy here and apparently there is some cold weather on the way so I intend to stay cosy indoors as much as I can for the near future!

I've been delving into one of my ScrapRoom Flavors of the month kits, this one from October included some MME Abbey Road papers. I thought the blues and oranges of the paper would go well with some pool photos, backed with some brown kraft Bazzil.

I punched out lots of flowers with my EK Success retro flower punches, and added some buttons to them as well as some diamond Stickles.

Christmas seems to be fast approaching but I am at least starting to get organised with presents and thinking about food etc. It's also when I think about scrapping Christmassy photos, for some strange reason I ca't seem to get into scrapping pictures of the Christmas season at any other time of the year, I just doesn't seem right!

It's been a while since I posted but with half-term over I've got a bit more time on my hands again.

We had a busy weekend, I had a trip to the NEC in Birmingham on Sunday where they were holding the Hobbycraft show. I got some bits that I've been after for a while including one of the Martha Stewart punches and some glimmery sprays which I can't wait to use (mind you reading the instructions I'll need to be careful when I use them otherwise it could all end up on the furniture, walls, carpets and me!

Whilst I was shopping DH took the kids to the Sealife centre in Birmingham which they all enjoyed - and I'm glad so I didn't have to drag them around the show with me (which no-one would have enjoyed!)

It's kit time again at Gottacraft, the November kit included some scrummy papers from the Crate Paper Seasons range. I have just checked and it has sold out already so I hope everyone that wanted one managed to get hold of it. The papers are really bright and funky and I had a great time making up some cards and layouts with it. Here are a couple of my projects -

Apart from the kit I used some Thickers and the swirl was copied from the background sheet of a Prima Swirl onto acetate with Liquid Pearls. The heart pins are a bargain buy from E-Bay.

The card again uses all bits from the kit other than some letters which I stamped onto plain white card for the message. I used my trust Fiskars punch for the scallop at the bottom.

Now that winter's here and the outdoors isn't quite as tempting I decided I deserved a little scrapping related treat so I've subscribed to a monthly kit from the US from a company called The Scraproom. I have just received my first kit and it's lovely. I really like the fact that you get 4 different kits in one package, so at least if one of them doesn't take your fancy there's bound to me others that you like! I can't wait to see what's in the next one which should be on it's way to me very soon....

I have been making a few Tri-Shutter cards recently as I find them fascinating. I first saw the idea on this blog here and adapted the design through trial and error to make a DL sized card from a sheet of A4 card.

This is a card I made for a Baby Boy, I decided that with an extra surface to play with I would add a little pocket with a tag in where you can add the baby's name or even a small photo. The technique is the same as the one of the blog above, but my measurements along the long edge of the card are at 49mm, 99mm, 198mm and 247mm. The 2 cut lines are 4cm in from each edge between the 49mm and 247mm measurements. I think you get a slightly better finished card if you only score 4 cm in on the 49mm and 247mm measurements, especially as you don't need the scoring across the middle part for that bit. They are quite fiddly to start with and I had quite a few failed attempts before I got it right!
The pram on the front of the card is cut from a circle of plain card, I then cut a little over a quarter of it away and then used various border punches to make the trims on it. A couple of buttons for the wheels and some wire for the handle and it was done!

One last card to share, a card for a little girl's 2nd birthday. I hand cut the cake from different cards and based it on the cute backing paper from K & Co.

Have a great weekend whatever you're up to!

Another week goes by, and this week is special as my DD turns thirteen, so there will be a teenager in the house - eek! So far she is not showing signs of too many 'teenager' traits so fingers crossed!

Last week I treated myself to the latest Gottacraft kit, this month the papers are Animal Bash from Prima. The papers are really bright and funky and I think they will go perfectly with photos of the kids and also my new niece. You always get loads in Sandra's kits and there are even some stamps in the kit this month.

This is a page made up recently with some bits and pieces that I had left over from other projects. The little birds and branches are cut from We R Memory Keepers White Out papers. The frame is from My Minds Eye.

Have a great week x

Saturday, 19 September 2009

Well that's another week over, busy again but now at least I can get down to some crafting! I've done a couple of layouts of my beautiful new niece.

The paper in the first one is Heidi Grace. The border is from K&Co and the letter stickers are Doodlebug. I made a simple frame to go around the photo and used my threading water punch to edge it and then stitched around it with embroidery thread.

I always like to use up my scraps so this birth congratulations card is made using the scraps of paper from the layout above. The pram is a circle of card with a segment cut out of it and 2 buttons for wheels.

The second layout used Fancy Pants Little Sprout papers. The swirl stamps are Autumn Leaves.

My last layout is a bit of a different subject - my DS eating a pizza! This particular pizza was recorded for prosperity as it had the slightly unusual topping of chips and hot-dog! I must point out that he doesn't normally eat that kind of thing but we were on holiday! The papers are from My Minds Eye Breaking Free range which came in the August kit from Gottacraft. Sandra has a sale on at the moment over on the site so take a look if you'd like a bargain!

I hope you are enjoying the weekend, have fun whatever you are up to!

Tuesday, 8 September 2009

I hope everyone is having a good week so far, for me the kids are back to school so it's nice and peaceful at home and less running around clearing up all the time! The holidays were 7 weeks long this time so I think even the children were ready to go back to school in the end!

I've been busy with some layouts which you can see below.
This layout shows DH and the kiddies dipping their toes in the water at Lake Garda whilst we were on holiday last month. The die-cut paper is Making Memories and the patterned papers are K&Co and Basic Grey. The letter stickers are Basic Grey and Doodlebug and the rhinestone swirls are from Prima.

This layout is about my DD who will shortly become a teenager (yikes!) The layout design is based on one I saw in a recent edition of Scrapbrook Trends. The papers and embellies are from KI Memories Love Elsie range. The letters are a mix of Thickers.

I had some photos of my brand new niece printed up ready to be scrapped so expect to see some baby layouts soon!

Enjoy the rest of your week whatever you're up to....

Tuesday, 1 September 2009

I thought I should post as I haven't done so for a while as I've been busy with kids work and all the other usual mundane day to day stuff! The kids are back to school next week so I should hopefully have a bit more time on my hands then.

Since I last posted my sister has had her baby, a beautiful little girl called Sophia. She is quite tiny but perfect! I know that the photos I am taking of her will provide lots of scrapping opportunities very soon!

I have managed one layout, which is of a photo of my sister and husband when they married coming up for a year ago. This photo was one that the official photographer took, as they purchased the original photo files from her on disk so we can now print off as many as we want.

The papers are from American Crafts and Papermania. Die-cuts are K & Co, pearls are from Kaisercraft, flowers from Prima and the rub-ons are from Basic Grey.
